Kings Langley station has been awarded £10.6 million of funding through the Department for Transport’s Access for All programme, enabling a major accessibility upgrade at the station.
The scheme will provide a fully accessible route between the station entrance and all platforms, making it easier for passengers with reduced mobility to use the railway independently.
The project includes:
- Installation of a new footbridge linking all platforms
- Construction of three lifts to provide step-free access throughout the station
- Upgraded station lighting
- Additional CCTV coverage
- Enhanced passenger information and announcement systems
- Improved power supplies
- New fire refuge areas
Together, these improvements will help create a safer, more accessible and inclusive station for the thousands of passengers who use Kings Langley each year.
The project is being delivered by Network Rail in partnership with London Northwestern Railway, which manages the station, as part of the Government’s wider Access for All programme to improve accessibility across the rail network.
Work is scheduled to begin in November 2026 and is expected to be completed by July 2027. We are committed to working closely with passengers, local residents, elected representatives and other stakeholders throughout delivery. Further information on construction activity and any temporary changes required during the works will be shared ahead of work starting on site.
