OPALS Event at the Kings Langley Community Centre on 14th August 2026

An OPALS (Older Persons Activity Learning and Safety) event is taking place on Friday 14th August at 10.00am – 2.00pm at the Kings Langley Community Centre, The Nap, Kings Langley, WD4 8ET

The aim of the OPALS event is to provide quality information, advice and help available within the local community on a wide range of services available to reduce vulnerability of our senior citizens, to provide reassurance, safe and wellbeing support and reduce loneliness.

All event guests will be seated and served refreshments and a FREE hot meal, representatives from a variety of agencies will give advice and the services they offer.

It is a sociable event, and a great opportunity to meet other residents in the local area.

Agencies not giving talks will have stalls that you can visit, to get advice, collect some safety related information and freebies.

The event lasts around 4 hours; please arrive on time to ensure you do not miss out on the speakers or freebies on offer. Warm and Winter gift bags from “Small Act of Kindness” will be handed out at the end of the event.

Kings Langley Parish Council is pleased to announce that its new website is now live!

The new website has been developed to provide residents and visitors with a clearer and more accessible way to find information about the Parish Council, including meeting agendas and minutes, policies, contact details, local news, events, and information about Council services and facilities.

As the website is still in its early launch stage, the Council would welcome feedback from residents on how easy the site is to use and whether any information is difficult to find, or missing.

Residents are encouraged to take a look around the new website and contact the Parish Council office (klpc@kingslangley-pc.gov.uk) with any comments, suggestions, or issues they may notice.

Kings Langley Parish Council is pleased to welcome Karen Tucker as its new Administrative Assistant to the Clerk.

Karen will be working alongside the Clerk to support the day-to-day administration of the Council and help with enquiries from residents, councillors, and local organisations.

Her appointment will provide additional support in the Parish Council office and help the Council continue to improve communication, administration, and services for the local community.

The Council is delighted to welcome Karen to the team and looks forward to working with her.

Kings Langley Parish Council would like to remind residents and local groups that hall hire is available at Charter Court.

The hall provides a useful space for community activities, meetings, classes, clubs, and local events. The Council is keen to encourage use of the facility by residents, organisations, and community groups.

Anyone interested in hiring the hall is encouraged to contact the Parish Council office for further information, including availability, hire charges, and booking arrangements.

Kings Langley Parish Council would like to remind residents that free dog waste bags are available from the Parish Council office.

Residents are welcome to collect bags during office opening hours to help support responsible dog ownership and keep Kings Langley clean and pleasant for everyone.

Dog owners are reminded to please clean up after their dogs and dispose of dog waste responsibly using the bins provided.

Kings Langley Parish Council has agreed arrangements for the village Christmas lights display for 2026.

The display will continue to bring festive lighting to the village centre, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere for residents, visitors, and local businesses during the Christmas period.

As part of the 2026 arrangements, the Council is also exploring a potential expansion of the display to include the parade of shops near the Post Office on Hempstead Road. This would help extend the festive decorations to another well-used part of the village and support the Council’s aim of improving the appearance of key local areas.

Further details will be confirmed later in the year once the final arrangements have been agreed.

The Parish Council looks forward to helping Kings Langley celebrate the festive season once again in 2026.
